I am currently working on argumentative writing support for English-as-foreign-language (EFL) learners, supervised by Prof. Takenobu Tokunaga. We are also working with Prof. Simone Teufel.

My research aims to help EFL students to write a coherent argument. In our swiftly changing global society, students have to cultivate their skills to make a coherent and logical argument in order to convince others that their opinions are important, on top of having superb command on English. Most English-speakers do not speak it as the first language, and we know that it is difficult to learn a foreign language. My research is vital for non-English speaking countries, e.g., Japan (where I study), to achieve a greater presence at the global stage.
